Abstract:

In many surgical centers the intra-abdominal morcellation of 15-cm myomas or freely dissected organs such as kidnieys has become routine. A prerequisite is the availability of a macro-morcellator which reduces the tissue bulk to a small enough size that it may be removed through the standard abdominal trocars in a reasonable amount of time.
